Summer in the South of France Cannes Fireworks
One of the most spectacular of the annual summer events here in the South of France is the Festival of Pyrotechnic Art of Cannes - otherwise known as the Cannes Firework Festival.
This annual event brings together teams from around the world who compete to put on the biggest and most impressive display of fireworks, all set to music. The fireworks are set off from special pontoons moored offshore and the site of the amazing displays over the water is one of the must see events if you are spending your summer here.
The event runs on various evenings throughout July and August and the best way to watch the fireworks is from one of the beachfront restaurants. Enjoy a delicious dinner and then site back with perhaps a little 'digestif' and prepare to be amazed.
Renting a Cannes villa is a great way to enjoy not only the Firework festival but also the many other summer events held each year in the South of France.

5 things to do before the Tourists Arrive in the South of France
We all love the summer, but it does mean that for those of us living in the South of France then we have to share our restaurants, our beaches and of course our roads with all our visitors who arrive from across the globe. So just before they invade, here are our top 5 tips of things to do before it get's too busy.
1. Lunch on the Beach in Cannes - Right now the beach restaurants and calm and there's no rush for the best sunbeds. Wander down on to the beach, enjoy a leisurely lunch and then sleep it off to the sounds of the Mediterranean lapping in the distance.
2. Drive to St Tropez - It's getting close to that time when all roads - or should we say road- into and out of St Tropez are jammed packed and it takes an extra hour to get into the village. So now is the time to drive down, park on the port and stroll into St Tropez for a little designer shopping.
3. Picnic at the Lake - Either St Cassian or St Croix - take a trip into the hills and enjoy a quiet family picnic by the lake.
4. Dinner on the port at Villefranche - Delicious food and a wonderful setting - something to be enjoyed when it's not too crowded.
5. Market Day - Many to choose from and at this time of year you can stroll easily through the lines of stalls and pick up the early season bargains before the 'tourist prices' arrive.
And of course, out of season your rental villa is less expensive. So contact the team at Cote d'Azur Villas for a selection of over 350 villas throughout the South of France & Provence.

5 Tips for Surviving the Cannes Film Festival
The iconic Cannes Film Festival comes to town in May each year and Cannes is alive with celebrities, limousine and the world famous red carpet.
But how do you survive? It's busy, traffic is heavy and if you're in Cannes to do business then here are our top 5 tips for making the most of your visit to the South of France.
1. Accommodation - Hotels are busy and expensive but choosing a private Cannes villa to rent is a cost effective and altogether much more enjoyable way to visit the Film Festival.
2. Location - So you've decided to rent a villa but make sure it's in the right location. Honestly if you're not within a 10 minute walk then you're going to spend your time stuck in horrid Cannes traffic. A great solution is Villa Mystique, just a 10 minute walk to the heart of the action at the Palais des Festivals.
3. Parties - Lots! It's Cannes after all, but what about organising a party or a film launch? Why not make the most of your Cannes villa and organise your event in the same location? Easy, cost effective and much less hassle than trying to find a separate venue.
4. Be Selective - Days at the Film Festival are long and this year the prizes are being awarded a day earlier so we have even more to cram in. There is a schedule full on screenings from morning until late at night, but be selective, it's impossible to see or do everything. Plan before you arrive and stick to it.
5. Arrive Early - Stay Late. Mix a little business with pleasure and add a few days on at the beginning or end of your stay. Cannes is a wonderful location from which to explore the Cote d'Azur. Take the train into Monaco for the Grand Prix, hire a car and drive along the coast into St Tropez or just wander down to the beach and enjoy being in the heart of one of the most beautiful places in Europe.
